Who are we:
We are a group of current or prospective educators looking to support your family with all your math needs whether that is helping a child find or sustain their love for math or helping them excel in higher level courses. We incorporate a variety of tools, games, and techniques to provide a unique tutoring experience that is aligned specifically to each student.
We promise to:
Teach for a balanced understanding of the math ideas (conceptual, contextual, and procedural);
Support each student to have a positive math mindset (every student can learn math at high levels!); and
To use student voice/understanding to drive our planning and instruction.
What sets us apart:
As current and prospective educators, we are invested in personal math growth as educators and collective math growth for our community of educators and students. We provide coaching to our incoming instructors to ensure that they are growing and learning as educators and have the skills they need to embrace and excel in our high standards and philosophies. Each instructor is continuously supported by our veteran instructors who coach them to support their ongoing growth.

What Families Are Saying
"Where do I begin? [our tutor] is a DREAM! My girls LOVE their time with her. She spends time getting to know them and simply hold conversation to build a relationship, trust, and familiarity. She is a PRO at finding out what sparks, how to engage and incorporate their interests into fun lessons, and her on-the-spot flexibility combined with a consistent positive and supportive attitude are like no other. I had been looking for an individualized program like this for a while and I'm so glad I found SVL and that we were paired with [our tutor]. She hits it out of the park every single week. I know there will come a day when this dream ends, but I'm savoring every but of it until then." -Emily, E.Q. Parent
"I could go on and on about [our tutor]. Despite the fact that my daughter is incredibly intelligent, she obviously needed more assistance in her advanced math class. Before enrolling at SVL, she had a tutor, and with the help of that tutor, she passed the course. But [our SVL] is more engaging and knowledgeable than her former tutor, and the former tutor was a instructor in the school system.” - Parent of an SVL Student
“We entered SVL with an open mind because we were unsure of what to expect. To our astonishment, [our tutor] not only thoroughly understood the content, but he also educated our daughter in such a way that she felt confident and eager to attend class and succeed. This program has taken all of the anxiety of learning new math out of the equation.” - Parent of an SVL Student
“At her school, my daughter is presently taking advanced math. She presently has an A- in the class, and it is Q2. I dread what her grade would be if you hadn't invested the time in our daughter.” - Parent of an SVL Student
“We see SVL as a wonderful blessing for our family and would GLADLY tell others about our successes and experiences!" - Parent of an SVL Student
